IU football adds second commit for 2014

DeAndre Herron, a 6-foot-5-inch, 325 pound offensive tackle, committed to the IU football program Saturday afternoon.

Herron is the second commitment for the Class of 2014 for the Hoosiers, joining defensive tackle Michael Barwick.

The tackle graduated from Avon High School in Indiana in 2012 and currently attends Iowa Western Community College.

Herron also had offers from Louisville, Arizona and Ball State.

The current heaviest tackle on the IU roster is Dimitric Camiel, who weighs 310 pounds.

Herron had previously signed with Louisville out of high school and was set to report there in 2012, but was told by the university that he was academically ineligible.
