IU women’s basketball Coach Curt Miller added a new video coordinator and graduate assistant to his staff Thursday.
Jimmy Colloton moves up from graduate assistant, where he spent the last two seasons, to video coordinator.
Azjah Bass will join the team as graduate assistant.
During his time as graduate assistant, Colloton managed the male practice players and team managers and also assisted video coordinator Patrick Henry.
Colloton worked as a student assistant coach for Wittenberg University’s men’s basketball team in 2011.
When he graduated from Wittenberg, he came to IU and began his role as
graduate assistant.
“Jimmy is a talented coach and did a fantastic job as our graduate assistant last season,” Miller said in a press release. “He also assisted our former video coordinator, Patrick Henry, which will allow for a smooth transition into his new role.”
Bass played basketball at Butler from 2008-2011, graduating with a degree in physical education.
The Indianapolis-native garnered Indiana All-Star honors during her senior year at Lawrence North High School in 2007.
She joins Director of Basketball Operations Liz Honegger as the second member of the coaching staff to have played as an Indiana All-Star.
In addition, the team will have six team members on its roster next season who have earned that honor.
Last year, Bass worked as the associate head coach at Lincoln Trail Junior College in Robinson, Ill. She also spent one month as interim head coach there.
“Azjah comes highly recommend and I have truly enjoyed getting to know her over the last few weeks,” Miller said in the press release. “I believe she will be a great role model for our players after enjoying an outstanding prep and collegiate career in the state of Indiana. My staff now includes two former Indiana All-Stars, continuing to show our commitment to building with Hoosiers.”
