A 22-year-old female reported she was sexually assaulted by a known male aquaintance while she was sleeping at her residence at approximately 3 a.m. Wednesday, Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Joe Crider said.
Police responded to the IU Health emergency room at 10:40 p.m. that day when they received a report about the sexual assault.
The victim reported to police that she was sleeping on her couch when she was awoke to a 21-year-old male acquaintance sexually assaulting her.
The victim reported that alcohol was involved. This case is still active as of Thursday afternoon.
