Elston to play in Malta

Derek Elston will join his former teammate and roommate Jordan Hulls in playing overseas.

The former IU forward will join a professional team in Malta, Italy, making him the fourth player from this past year's IU squad to sign a professional contract.

Victor Oladipo and Cody Zeller are in the NBA, while Hulls has signed a contract to play in Poland.

There will likely be a fifth, as Christian Watford played on two NBA Summer League teams.

Another former teammate of Elston's, Verdell Jones III, broke the news on Twitter Tuesday. Media outlets later confirmed the signing.
