Kids to create wacky foods at Wonder Wonka Food Factory

A new exhibit will transport visitors to the world of Willy Wonka 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday at WonderLab Museum of Science, Health and Technology.

The museum’s new Wonder Wonka Food Factory will enable guests to create their own wacky food items including frozen cheese puffs, rainbow juice, edible slime and fizzy fruit, among other items.

Activities will include creating ice cream while doing aerobic exercise and blowing “dragon smoke” as they chew on certain food items.

The goal of the new exhibit is to teach children about the chemistry behind food.

After the program, participants will receive a special take-home recipe for growing their own rock candy.

To enter the Wonder Wonka Food Factory, WonderLab Museum members must pay $3 per participant, and nonmembers must pay $5, plus museum general admission.
