IU falls to Missouri 45-28

In a much hyped SEC vs. Big Ten match up, the Hoosiers fell flat against the Tigers.

Missouri (3-0) beat down IU (2-2) 45-28. This was the first time since 1954 Missouri has defeated IU.

Early turnovers kept the Hoosiers in the game. At one time the score was knotted at 14-14. Since that point, the Tigers went on to outscore the Hoosiers 31-14.

The usually reliable Hoosier offense struggled tonight. Despite accumulating 475 total yards, it was inefficient. Sophomore quarterback Nate Sudfeld threw three interceptions, and was benched for sophomore Tre Roberson at points during the game.

Missouri quarterback James Franklin was 32-47 for 343 yards and two touchdowns.

Senior safety Greg Heban was a bright spot for the Hoosiers, with two first quarter interceptions.

Sophomore running back Tevin Coleman was bottled up by the Tiger defense. He had just 54 yards on 15 carries after going over 100 yards last week.

The Tigers had two receivers earn more than 100 yards.

IU junior Cody Latimer led the Hoosier receivers again with 136 yards on eight catches and one touchdown.

IU has a bye week before Big Ten play begins against Penn State on Oct. 5.
