After losing a non-conference game against Navy last week, IU took down Bowling Green 42-10 Saturday after the defense did not allow a touchdown.

Nate Sudfeld got his first career start and delivered. The sophomore went 17-26 for 335 yards and added two touchdowns. He also ran for a one-yard touchdown.

The only Falcon touchdown was a punt block that was returned 56 yards for a touchdown. Bowling Green missed two field goals.

In Bowling Green’s previous two games, they had allowed an average of 3.5 points per game in the second half. Today, IU hung 21 second half points on the Falcons.

IU was proficient in the running game, with both Tevin Coleman and Stephen Houston going more than 100 yards. Coleman had 129 yards on 19 carries and two touchdowns.

Houston averaged 12 yards a carry, while rushing for 155 yards on 13 carries.

Cody Latimer had six catches for a game high 137 yards. The preseason Biletnikoff award preseason watch list nominee also had a touchdown.

Despite the offense stalling twice inside the five-yard line, the Hoosier offense still scored 42 points and 601 total yards.

On defense the Hoosiers were led by safety Greg Heban who had 12 tackles. Cornerback Tim Bennett had seven tackles and three pass break ups.
