Ind. Sen. Sue Landske diagnosed with cancer, will undergo treatment

State Sen. Sue Landske, R-Cedar Lake, announced she has been diagnosed with lung cancer.

Landske will undergo treatments at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago and will continue her role as senator.

“Understandably, this is a very personal issue,” Landske said in a press release from her office. “However, I’ve worked hard throughout my tenure at the State Senate to be upfront and honest with my constituents, and in that spirit I wanted the public to know about my health condition. I’ll continue to serve Hoosiers as long as I’m healthy enough to do so, and plan on taking each day one step at a time.”

According to the release, Landske and her doctors both expect her to make a full recovery.

“I appreciate all of your thoughts and prayers and want to thank all of you for your support during this time,” Landske said.
