Performance series deadline approaches

The deadline to apply to perform in one of City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation’s Performing Arts Series concerts is at 5 p.m. Dec. 16.

The concerts will occur from May through August in various Bloomington parks, including People’s Park, the Waldron, Hill and Buskirk Park and Bryan Park.

Applicants must pay a $10 fee with the application and are encouraged to send photos, links to music online and recent publicity, according to a City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation press release.

Online applications can be found on the City of Bloomington’s website, www.bloomington.in.gov/concerts.

“Performers are selected based on type and quality of performance, availability, past performance record, cost and sponsor interest,” according to the press release.

The Performing Arts Series offers local musicians an opportunity to showcase their talents and gives community members the chance to attend multiple concerts at outdoor venues throughout Bloomington.
