Events this weekend in Bloomington's art scene

Friday, December 13

8 p.m. Rockabilly band Hudson Hornet is playing at the Player’s Pub on South Walnut. A UFO Baby DJ party is scheduled for later that night.

8 p.m. Panache Dance is host to “Nightmare Before the Holidays” Dance, following the Friday-the-13th theme.

8 p.m. PRIDE is host to a Freaky Friday dance to benefit their 2014 film festival at the Back Door. Suggested donation is $5-15.

Saturday, December 14
9 a.m. Band Farm Pickers is performing at the Winter Farmer’s Market at Harmony School. Admission is free.

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The IU Art Museum is displaying a special exhibition of African art titled “the Patterned Kingdom: Surface Design among the Kuba.” Admission is free.

7:30 p.m. The Bloomington Playwright Project is presenting a show from their production series “the Banana Tree”. Admission is $20.

Sunday, December 15

10:00 am. Free art show at El Norteño featuring paintings by Paul Kane.

10:00 am The IU Art Museum is featuring a special exhibition called Art Interrupted: Advancing American Art and the Politics of Cultural Diplomacy. Admission is free.
