Local bank robbed, suspect in custody

There was a robbery at the IU Credit Union at 510 E. 17th St. at about 6 p.m. Friday, IU Police Department Lt. William Munroe said.

Patrick C. Hardy, 40, was arrested in connection with the robbery sometime after 10 p.m. Friday, IUPD Sgt. Chad Bennett said.

Munroe said the suspect was wearing a dark pullover sweatshirt or jacket and dark gym shoes with orange stripes. The suspect handed a clerk a note and indicated he had a weapon, but no weapon was shown, Munroe said.

This case is still under investigation.
