Women's tennis goes undefeated over weekend

IU women’s tennis picked up three 7-0 wins over the weekend against Xavier, Cincinnati and Eastern Kentucky.

On Saturday, No. 40 IU opened dual play with a pair of sweeps against Xavier and Cincinnati on the road. The Hoosiers won all but one of the 18 matches on the day.

The Hoosiers’ only dropped match came against Xavier.

IU’s junior pair of Carolyn Chupa and Katie Klyczek picked up a win at No. 1 doubles, while seniors Kayla Fujimota and Sophie Garre won the No. 3 match to clinch the doubles point against the Musketeers.

Sunday, the team returned home to defeat Eastern Kentucky 7-0 at the IU Tennis Center.
The Hoosiers did not lose a single match against the Colonels that day.

The only match where Eastern Kentucky managed to win a set came in the No. 1 singles match. Klyczek went on to win 6-4, 4-6, 1-0 (10-8).

The Hoosiers will play Eastern Michigan at 1 p.m. Friday.
