Chevalier leads Hoosiers to 14th place at invitational Tuesday

IU women’s golf carded a final round team score of 306 to finish 14th at the Briar’s Creek Invitational at the Golf Club at Briar’s Creek in John’s Island, S.C., on Tuesday.

IU shot a three-day total of 921 (310-305-306) in the tournament, 33 shots behind Texas Tech who took home the crown shooting 888.

Sophomore Camille Chevalier led the way for the Hoosiers, finishing in a tie for 22nd after shooting 75 Tuesday.

Chevalier shot 75 in each of her three rounds to finish with a 225.

Following Chevalier was freshman Ana Sanjuan who shot a three round total of 229. Her 78-74-77 performance put her in a tie for 37th place.

Junior Elizabeth Tong finished 43rd with a 230 (79-76-75) and sophomore Marissa DeCola placed 65th with her final score of 239 (78-82-79).

The Hoosiers will return to action April 4 in the first round of the Liz Murphey Invitational in Athens, Ga.

The Hoosiers will follow that tournament with the Lady Buckeye Invitational before the Big Ten Championships tee off April 25.
