Bloomington police looking for suspect in hit-and-run crash

The Bloomington Police Department is looking for help locating the driver of a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run accident that injured two men.

At about 9:37 p.m. April 1, BPD responded to 17th Street and North Willis Drive on a call of a car accident involving serious injury.

A light-colored, four-door passenger car was traveling eastbound on 17th Street when it collided with the rear of a moped, police said.

The driver and passenger of the moped were thrown over the hood of the passenger car, police said.

After the collision, the passenger car continued eastbound on 17th Street from the accident scene and was later captured on a nearby video surveillance system, police said.

The driver of the vehicle was described as a white male in his early- to mid-twenties.

The light-colored car would have sustained damage to the driver’s side front bumper, light assembly and hood.

Any person with information regarding the accident is asked to contact Detective Rick Crussen at 812-349-3374.
