The IU water polo team earned seventh place in the NCAA tournament this weekend.
The No. 8 seeded Hoosiers lost their first round matchup to No. 1 Stanford 18-2, and No. 5 Arizona State in the second round, knocking the Hoosiers from national title contention.
IU beat No. 7 UC San Diego 9-8 in the consolation game to earn seventh place in the NCAA tournament.
The Hoosiers were the highest finishing team from east of the Mississippi River.
