Tom Crean announced the addition of a 6-foot-4 guard who averaged 6.9 points a game last season to the men's basketball program.
Former Illinois State guard Nick Zeisloft will be eligible this fall for IU, as he comes to Bloomington as a graduate student with two years of eligibility remaining.
Zeisloft will try and help an IU team that struggled at times with outside shooting last season. The Hoosiers amassed just 26.7 percent of their points from behind the arc last season, which was eighth in the Big Ten.
Last season at Illinois State, Zeisloft shot 41.8 percent from three and 90 percent from the free throw line.
“The addition of Nick allows us to spread and space the floor even more and play with more pace,” Crean said in a release.
The La Grange, Ill. native will be in the Kelley School of Business starting this fall. As a junior at Illinois State, Zeisloft was a team captain.
“Coach Crean was very honest with me about what I could achieve at Indiana and I appreciate that,” Zeisloft said in a release. “I think I can bring leadership, experience and shooting ability to this team. I really enjoyed my visit and was impressed with how hard they work out and how they communicate with one another. I think I can be there for these guys as a teammate and always have their back.”
