IU men’s basketball finalized its 2014-15 schedule by announcing its non-conference schedule Friday afternoon. The Hoosiers will play 31 games this season, with 13 of those against opponents outside the Big Ten Conference.
The Hoosiers’ 2014-15 season opener is scheduled for Nov. 14, when Mississippi Valley State comes to Bloomington. Each of IU’s first nine contests will take place at Assembly Hall, with the Hoosiers playing outside of Indiana only once in their first 11 games.
The non-conference schedule’s highest-profile clashes come against a triplet of East Coast programs, with Pittsburgh coming to Bloomington and a pair of trips to Madison Square Garden to take on Louisville and Georgetown in December.
IU will open Big Ten Conference play with a trip to Nebraska on Dec. 31, kicking off an 18-game conference slate culminating in the Big Ten Tournament from March 11-15.
The Hoosiers’ schedule features four opponents who finished the 2013-14 season in the USA Today Coaches’ Top 25: Big Ten foes Wisconsin (No. 4), Michigan (No. 6) and Michigan State (No. 8), as well as Louisville (No. 9).
