Cornett, 21, was suspended from the team for his involvement in an altercation in late August on Kirkwood Avenue.
The incident was classified as a “mutual physical confrontation” by IU Police Department officials after it occurred.
The Indiana Daily Student reported in August that officers saw Cornett punch a man in the face, knocking the other man unconscious.
Cornett was previously put on probation after pleading guilty to a December 2013 reckless driving charge.
The Indianapolis native has not appeared in any games this season. He played in 11 games in the previous season, primarily on special teams.
