IU defeats MVSU 116-65

IU men's basketball defeated Mississippi Valley State 116-65 in IU's first game of the regular season. 

IU's 116 points scored is the most scored in the IU Coach Tom Crean-era. 

Freshman guard James Blackmon Jr. led IU with 25 points. Forward Max Hoetzel finished with 19 points and nine rebounds.

IU missed just 20 shots on the night, making 39-of-59 attempts. 

In the first half, the Hoosiers did not miss a field goal in the half's final six minutes and 58 seconds, which allowed them to stretch the lead to as many as 25 points. IU tallied more turnovers than missed shots, giving the ball away 13 times while missing just eight times from the field.
