IU spoiled former coach Mike Davis' return to Assembly Hall, coasting to an 83-64 win over Texas Southern.
The Hoosiers were led by freshman guard Robert Johnson, who tallied 21 points, five rebounds, six assists and a steal. A huge first-half performance - 17 points, four assists and three rebounds - gave IU a 15-point lead at halftime.
Behind Johnson, four other Hoosiers scored in double digits - junior guard Yogi Ferrell with 20, freshman guard James Blackmon, Jr. with 19 and junior forward Hanner Mosquera-Perea with 12.
Mosquera-Perea recorded career highs in both points and blocks, of which he had five. The 6-foot-9 forward recorded career highs in points and rebounds in the Hoosiers' season-opening win last Friday.
Tonnie Collier paced Texas Southern. The junior forward scored 16 points and was one of four Tigers in double figures.
IU next takes the floor Thursday night against No. 22 SMU.
