“The Challenge of Watercolor” is meant to show people how artists use this technique to create ?paintings.
“Any experienced artist will tell you that of all the painting mediums, watercolor is the most challenging and the least forgiving,” according to a news release from the Venue.
Members of the Bloomington Watercolor Society will demonstrate watercolor painting and discuss the role of their group in the community and the past and present functions of the group.
The Bloomington Watercolor Society is a group dedicated to promoting relationships among artists and providing opportunities for watercolor painters in the community.
Local artists can join the society online starting at $10 for students and $25 for the general public.
Meetings are usually at 6 p.m. on the second Monday of each month, from September to June.
Group members meet at the First Christian Church on Kirkwood Avenue and Washington Street.
At every meeting, there is an interactive workshop or demonstration for the members.
These demonstrations are free and open to the public, and children are also welcome to attend.
The Venue will provide refreshments, and attendees can also see the Bloomington Watercolor Society’s exhibit, which opened Nov. 7 and will continue through Dec. 3.
