CHAMPAIGN, Ill. -- For just the second time in its last 13 tries, IU has beaten Illinois on the road.
IU defeated Illinois 80-74.
The Hoosiers were led by 21 points from both freshman guard James Blackmon Jr. and sophomore forward Troy Williams, who also had nine rebounds.
Junior forward Nick Zeisloft was the only other Hoosier to finish in double-digit scoring with 10.
IU took a 73-72 lead with 1:24 left on a tip-in by Williams. A Blackmon layup and free throws by Williams and Zeisloft iced the victory.
IU improves to 14-4, 4-1 on the season.
