Robert Johnson and Stanford Robinson average 14.4 points per game between them this season.
They tallied 20 in the first half to lead IU into halftime with a 39-34 lead over Penn State.
Johnson, a freshman guard, leads all scorers with 12 points on 4-of-7 shooting. Robinson, a sophomore guard, added eight points and two rebounds.
IU used its third different starting lineup this season, replacing the injured Hanner Mosquera-Perea with sophomore Collin Hartman at center. Hartman and backup big man Emmitt Holt have been ineffective, failing to register a point and pulling in just two combined rebounds.
The Hoosiers have missed Mosquera-Perea’s size on the glass and trail the Nittany Lions 18-15 in that category.
Penn State guard D.J. Newbill scored 10 points in the half to lead his team.
