After 20 minutes, IU leads a turnover-filled contest with Rutgers, 40-30.

Each team has had difficulty keeping control of the basketball, combining for 16 turnovers, nine of which the Hoosiers committed themselves. Rutgers countered with a turnover on six straight possessions midway through the half.

Freshman guard James Blackmon Jr. shot his way to a game-high 14 first-half points despite committing three turnovers of his own. He shot 6-of-8 from the field, including 2-of-4 from 3-point range. Sophomore forward Troy Williams added six points and a game-high five rebounds.

IU Coach Tom Crean left junior forward Hanner Mosquera-Perea in the starting lineup for the second consecutive game. Mosquera-Perea made his first start Wednesday since returning from injury. He scored 11 points in the first half.
