State education voucher program grows

Education voucher participation in Indiana is five times higher than in 2011, according to a study completed at IU’s Center for Evaluation and Education Policy.

Eligibility to receive an education voucher in Indiana is among the least ?restrictive in the nation.

In the 2013-14 school year, Indiana awarded 19,809 vouchers to students across the state. In the 2011-12 school year, the state gave out 3,911 vouchers.

The scholarship pays ?either 90 percent or 50 percent of tuition and fees at ?private schools.
