A pair of blue-chip big men — Thon Maker and Thomas Bryant — were at Assembly Hall on Saturday to watch IU lose to Michigan State 74-72.
The 247Sports five-star centers watched the game from behind the IU bench. Cheers from the IU band flooded the floor when they walked off it together following the final buzzer.
Maker, rated as a top-10 prospect in the class of 2016 by 247Sports, is seen as one of the more versatile big men available. The Ontario, Canada, native has been going through the process of reclassifying for the class of 2015 and has been on both Kentucky and Kansas’ radars.
The 7-footer was joined by younger brother Matur Maker, a 6-foot-10 power forward in the class of 2017.
Bryant, a 6-foot-9 forward, was back in Bloomington after visiting during Hoosier Hysteria. The Rochester, N.Y., native, like Maker, has also drawn interest from the likes of Kentucky, Syracuse and Missouri, among others.
IU is already two commits over the limit. Missouri natives Juwan Morgan and O.G. Anunoby — both 6-foot-8 forwards — have already signed to play in Bloomington next season.
