LETTER: If I have to stop for you, you’re holding up traffic

Dearest Bloomington,

I am from the northeast, and I am quite content with cars pulling out in front of mine.

What I am not content with is having to slow down for them.

If you accelerate enough that I do nothing, that’s fine — no harm, no foul.

However, if I have to touch my brake pedal — even a gentle tap — you have failed as a driver.

You are no longer taking advantage of a small gap in traffic.

You are holding it up.

Joel Watson
