Brett Burman had been hired as the IU men’s basketball director of basketball operations, the program announced Monday afternoon.
IU Coach Tom Crean confirmed Burman’s hiring to reporters at an IU Athletics event at Lucas Oil Stadium last Thursday, according to multiple media reports.
Burman, a Miami native and University of Wisconsin graduate, will replace Rob Judson, who will fill the assistant coach vacancy created by Steve McClain’s departure. McClain left in March to take a job as the head coach at the University of Illinois-Chicago.
Burman has experience at the college and NBA level. Since graduating college, he has been a graduate manager under Frank Haith at Miami, the video coordinator at Hofstra, a video department employee for the Detroit Pistons and the director of basketball operations at Tulsa.
