Senior point guard Yogi Ferrell and sophomore shooting guard James Blackmon Jr. were named to the preseason All-Big Ten team by a panel of conference media members.
The 10-player team also includes Iowa’s Jarrod Uthoff, Maryland’s Jake Layman and Melo Trimble, Michigan’s Caris LeVert, Michigan State’s Denzel Valentine, Purdue’s A.J. Hammons, and Wisconsin’s Nigel Hayes and Bronson Koenig.
Trimble, Valentine, Hammons and Hayes were unanimous selections, and Trimble also earned 2015-16 Preseason Big Ten Player of the Year honors.
Ferrell was a first team All-Big Ten honoree by both the conference’s coaches and media members last season. Blackmon Jr. earned all-conference honorable mention honors after his freshman campaign.
