IU ranked No. 25 in USA Today Coaches Poll

Head Coach Tom Crean yells instructions during IU's game against Ohio State on Sunday at Assembly Hall. The Hoosiers won 85-60.

After a pair of Big Ten home wins against Wisconsin and Ohio State, IU men’s basketball made jumps in both the USA Today Coaches Poll and Associated Press Poll this past week.

On Monday, the Coaches Poll announced that IU was No. 25 in the country, while the Hoosiers remain unranked in the AP Poll, tallying 59 votes.

The Hoosiers made their first appearance in the Coaches Poll since a 1-2 record in the Maui Invitational dropped the team from its No. 14 rank in the third week of the season. IU made the biggest jump in the poll from last week, moving up nine spots from its unranked position.

IU has not been ranked in the AP Poll since late November after the Maui Invitational, where the Hoosiers were ranked as the 13th best team in the nation.

IU plays only once this week, on Saturday against Minnesota at 12:30 p.m.

Maryland is the Big Ten Conference’s highest-ranked team, ranking at No. 3 this week in the AP Poll. Michigan State is No. 4, while the Iowa Hawkeyes came in at No. 16 with an undefeated record in Big Ten play. Despite losing at Illinois on Sunday night, Purdue rounded out the Big Ten appearances at No. 24.
