Letter: Send in the Marine

I have spent the past three years at IU studying politics. During my time there I was able to meet, work with and campaign for Congressman Todd Young.

At the moment, Young is seeking the nomination for United States Senate. Having gotten a chance to know him, I can say without a doubt that he is the right man for the position. Be it his history of service or his work in Congress, I believe that Todd Young is the leader we need now in
the Senate.

It’s time to send in the
Marine.

Young grew up in Indiana. He worked for his dad’s small business mopping floors, attended the Naval Academy and served in the Marine Corps. There he trained in anti-terrorism, giving him an extensive understanding of the threats our country faces. All this shows he’s a proud Hoosier who’s served his country both in the field and in office.

However, his service did not end once he left the marines. He has served on the Ways and Means Committee crafting solutions to real problems for Americans. During his time in Congress, he authored a bill to delay the Obamacare mandates one year, introduced the REINS Act to reign in government regulations and has worked on legislation to reform student loans.

At the same time, he has worked with local Republican groups in the 9th district to expand the base and build the party. He has also demanded a better strategy for dealing with terrorism.

All of this shows that Todd Young is the right candidate to shrink the size and scope of government, defend the country and serve the great state of Indiana. I’m proud to support Todd Young on May 3. It’s time to send in the Marine.
