In-state offensive lineman commits to IU

IU added another lineman to its 2017 class this afternoon.

Harry Crider, a 247Sports Composite three-star offensive lineman out of Indiana’s Columbus East High School, decommitted from the Virginia Cavaliers and committed to the Hoosiers.

“I would like to thank the Virginia coaching staff for believing in me,” Crider said in a tweet, “but after consideration I have decided to decommitt from the University of Virginia and commit to Indiana University! I am extremely thankful and excited for this opportunity. Go Hoosiers!!”

Crider committed to UVA in June, but after he was offered on an unofficial visit to IU on Aug. 7, the tide appeared to quickly change in favor of the Hoosiers.

Outside of UVA, Crider also had offers from Buffalo, Illinois State, Eastern Kentucky and North Dakota.

At 6-foot-4, 250 pounds, Crider is the nation's 19th ranked center and 21st ranked recruit in the state of Indiana.

He is the 14th commit for IU’s 2017 class and sixth from the state of Indiana.

IU Coach Kevin Wilson and his staff have been busy this summer. The Hoosiers have 11 commitments since Florida linebacker Thomas Allen committed on June 1st.
