Haunted Hall of Hoops set for Friday

Head Coach Tom Crean walks across the court after instructing senior guard Yogi Ferrell in a shooting drill during practice on Thursday at the Wells Fargo Center. Indiana will play number one seed North Carolina in the Sweet Sixteen round of the NCAA Tournament tomorrow.

The IU men’s basketball team will have its ninth annual Haunted Hall of Hoops on Friday at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall, IU announced Monday in a press release.

The event is free of charge, and doors will open for candy and games at 6:30 p.m.

The team will have a full scrimmage that will begin at 7:30 p.m.

“This is something that everyone in our program looks forward too (sic),” IU Coach Tom Crean said in a press release. “We hope Hoosier fans will come out to take in our scrimmage and help us in our preparation with our first exhibition game a few days later.”

After the scrimmage, children in costume will be allowed to participate in a parade on the court. Group pictures with the coaches and players will be taken after the parade.

After the parade, there will be an autograph session for kids only. The players will be limited to sign just one item per child.

Everyone in attendance at the event will receive a free men’s basketball calendar poster.

IU’s season will begin Nov. 1 with an exhibition game at home against Hope College. Its first regular season game of the year is Nov. 11 against Kansas in Honolulu.
