IU men's tennis signs two for 2017

After bringing in the highest-ranked recruiting class in IU men’s tennis history in 2016, IU Coach Jeremy Wurtzman has a lot to look forward to in the 2017 class.

The Hoosiers have announced the signings of two players, Andrew Redding and Brandom Lam.

Redding is a four-star recruit from Concord, North Carolina. He was the No. 1 rated player in North Carolina and currently ranks 80th in the country, according to Tennis Recruiting Network.

“Andrew has an incredible work ethic and a ton of potential to continue to develop at IU,” Wurtzman said in a release from IU Athletics. “He has been a successful player in the Southern section at every age. I feel that with his great attitude and potential that he will be a big asset for the Hoosiers.”

Lam is a five-star recruit from Santa Rosa Valley, California. He is the 13th-ranked player in California and 46th in the country.

“Brandon has grown up in the Southern Cal section playing against the nation’s best,” Wurtzman said. “He has been a proven winner, and I feel that his game will translate very well in the Big Ten Conference. He has also had great success on the doubles court, which is huge in college tennis.”
