We only have two more stops on our journey through Bloomington before the end of the fall semester, and one of the places I must take you is right on Indiana Avenue.
BuffaLouie’s is a fantastic restaurant that has a specialty of chicken wings, but the menu is wide-ranging, containing burgers, salads and appetizers galore. It’s not just a generic wing place like Buffalo Wild Wings, because the tastes are great and the food always comes out with a consistently great quality.
With specials throughout the week, you can always find a reasonably priced option on the menu for appetites big or small.
What makes the food so enjoyable is the sauces that the chicken can be soaked in. The buffalo options are each rich and creamy and coat the wings to perfection.
From teriyaki to heated barbeque options to garlic parmesan, you won’t be let down. This is one of the only places I’ve ever been to that doesn’t lay the sauce on thin. You can taste it in every bite.
The location also offers numerous draft beer options if you’re looking to have that complement your experience.
And if you’re looking for a great atmosphere, BuffaLouie’s is still one of the best places to stop. TVs and memorabilia line the walls, so you’ll always have something to watch, and the atmosphere during a big game is simply electric.
The restaurant is located in a historic building known as the Gables. The building does have a gable, and you won’t be able to miss it from the street.
Upon stepping inside, the various levels of seating fit into this small building are remarkable. The historical integrity of the building was definitely kept. You can learn all about the history of the building if you stop by, and you’ll really feel the memories that are in the walls of a place like this.
