IU falls to No. 25 in new AP rankings

Junior Robert Johnson attempts a layup. The Hoosiers defeated the Redhawks 83-55.

Following a week where IU lost to both Nebraska and Louisville, the Hoosiers dropped to No. 25 in the new AP Top 25 rankings. IU is currently tied with USC for 25th as both teams received the same amount of votes.

Before the two losses, one of which came at home and one at Bankers Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, IU was No. 16 in the poll and had been as high as No. 3 this season.

IU’s next opponent – Wisconsin – sits at No. 13 in the AP poll. The only other Big Ten team in the rankings is Purdue who fell to No. 20 after a home overtime loss to Minnesota Sunday.

IU still holds wins over No. 3 Kansas and No. 14 North Carolina, though the Tar Heels dropped five spots following a loss to Georgia Tech. Butler fell to No. 18 following a loss at St. Johns and Louisville fell to No. 9 in the current rankings.

The Hoosiers host the No. 13 Badgers on Tuesday night for a 7 p.m. tipoff on ESPN.
