A 21-year-old Bloomington man faces a misdemeanor charge after he turned himself in for shoplifting video games.
Joshua Walker, 21, is charged with theft. On Tuesday, Walker turned himself in to the Target at College Mall, where he said he'd stolen three video games Feb. 13, Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Dana Cole said.
Walker told police he had been behind on rent, so he stole the games, which totaled a $199.97 value, and sold them to friends. Target's loss prevention division pulled security tapes from Feb. 13 and found footage of Walker leaving Target and a security tower sounding an alarm.
He was not arrested but was given a citation and a court summons for the misdemeanor. He did not say why he decided to turn himself in.
