Sophomore women’s tennis player Madison Appel was named to the All-Big Ten Team earlier today by the Big Ten conference.
Appel posted a 17-15 record in singles play and a 29-7 mark in doubles play this past season. She played No. 1 singles for IU and was 12-10 in dual matches and also played No. 1 doubles with senior Kim Schmider. The pair went 13-5 in doubles dual matches.
Appel was one of 14 players selected to the All-Big Ten team.
Freshman Pauline Jahren was also recognized. She earned the Big Ten Sportsmanship award. One player from each Big Ten school received this award.
IU qualified for the Big Ten Tournament this past season by defeating Iowa 4-2 in the first round before losing to Michigan 4-0 to end IU’s season.
