A total of $3,882 was stolen from the Cascades Golf Course pro shop July 16.
The golf league prize fund money was taken from the shop at 3550 N. Kinser Pike, the City of Bloomington Parks and Recreation Department announced last Friday in a press release.
Golf course employees found an open window and ransacked office. They also found a locked cash box forced open and the prize money that was inside stolen, according to the release. Nothing else was taken.
The Bloomington Police Department is investigating the theft.
The city’s Parks and Recreation, Human Resources and Legal Departments and the Office of the Controller are interviewing city staff who are responsible for the league prize fund. Appropriate action will be taken, according to the release.
