Minnesota United FC selected freshman forward Mason Toye with the seventh overall pick in the 2018 MLS SuperDraft on Friday.
Toye is the eleventh player from IU to be selected in the first round since the start of the MLS Draft era in 2000. He is the fourth highest player to be drafted from IU as well.
The leading scorer and starting striker in the 2017 season, Toye led the Hoosiers with 10 goals in his freshman campaign.
The Big Ten Freshman of the Year and First-Team All-Big Ten, Toye also landed on Top Drawer Soccer’s First-Team Freshman Best XI.
Toye is the youngest player in the 2018 draft class, and had an impressive combine performance leading up to the draft.
