Angel Scroggins, a Bloomington woman found dead after going missing 15 days earlier, had drugs in her system at the time of her death, according to her toxicology report.
The Monroe County Coroner ruled she died from hypothermia, but the drugs in her body contributed to it.
This confirms the Bloomington Police Department’s initial theory, BPD Sgt. Dana Cole said.
Scroggins was found dead Jan. 26 in the back of a small boat about 100 yards from her home.
Her blood and urine tested the highest for methamphetamine and Lopressor, a beta blocker used to treat high blood pressure and other heart-related issues.
She also tested positive for:
- Amphetamines and other stimulants
- Cannabinoids
- Benzodiazepines
- Opiates
- Cardiovascular agents like heart medication
- Methadone
The levels of these chemicals were well above therapeutic levels, Cole said.
