Blotter: Attempted theft from coin machines, stolen car, moped and polo shirts

Attempted theft from coin machines

Coin machines were damaged at the Highland Village Car Wash at 1929 S. Curry Pike after several people attempted to steal coins from the machines. BPD Sgt. Cody Forston said the suspects were not successful in stealing coins.

The machines were reported damaged early Friday afternoon. Forston said the suspects were two white males in their late teens, who left the car wash in a black four-door passenger car.

Stolen car and moped

A silver 2008 Nissan Versa was reported stolen from an apartment complex early Friday afternoon.

The victim, a 59-year-old man, told police the car was left parked in the 400 block of E. 11th St., and was stolen between 11 a.m. and 12:29 p.m. Friday.

He said he left the vehicle unlocked with the keys in the car.

Friday evening, a blue 2017 Honda NCW moped was reported stolen from an apartment complex in the 3400 block of S. Acadia Court.

Forston said the theft occurred between May 16 and June 1, although a neighbor said the moped was still there about two or three days before it was reported stolen.

More than $4,000 worth of polo shirts stolen

A total of $4,470 worth of polo shirts were reported stolen Friday afternoon from the Macy’s at 3068 E. Third St.

Forston said no arrests have yet been made, but three black males are considered suspects. One man was wearing a green jacket and had dreadlocks, while two others were both described by police as wearing gray shirts and having their hair in buns.

The men left the store in a gray Chevrolet Impala, Forston said.
