Counterfeit $100 bills at Kroger
A pair of counterfeiting incidents were reported to the Bloomington Police Department on Saturday afternoon at the Kroger at 500 S. Liberty Dr.
Both incidents involved counterfeit $100 bills, according to BPD Sgt. George Connolly.
The incidents took place May 20 and 21, with a female suspect successfully using a counterfeit bill May 20, before she was caught doing so the next day. Connolly said the cases are still under investigation.
Stolen car recovered
A 23-year-old male reported his car, a silver 1996 Nissan Quest van, stolen Saturday night from the Pizza Hut at 250 S. Pete Ellis Dr.
It’s not clear if the man was an employee or a patron at the restaurant, but he told police it was more than two hours from the time he parked his car to the time he found it missing.
Connolly said the car was recovered at 1 a.m. Sunday morning on Leonard Springs Rd.
Police arrested 31-year-old Shandi R. Hawkins at 3011 S. Leonard Springs Rd. when recovering the car. Hawkins was charged with auto theft and possession of a syringe, methamphetamine and marijuana.
Vandalism at Upstairs Pub
A suspect Connolly said is a "known person" tore down a surveillance camera early Saturday morning at Upstairs Pub at 430 Kirkwood Ave.
The suspect left after taking down the camera and the case is still active, Connolly said.
