IU among DJ Carton's final three schools

IU Coach Archie Miller yells at the IU basketball team in a huddle during the Hoosiers' game against the Iowa Hawkeyes in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on Dec. 4. IU's 2018-19 men's basketball schedule has been finalized, and most games also have television channels and times designated.

IU Coach Archie Miller and his staff are in pursuit of another top recruit.

On Sunday, 5-star recruit DJ Carton announced his final three schools via a Twitter post, narrowing his options down to IU, Michigan and Ohio State.

Carton cut his original list of six schools in half as Iowa, Marquette and Xavier dropped out of consideration.

According to the 247Sports Composite, the 6-foot-2 point guard out of Bettendorf, Iowa, is the No. 24 recruit in the country in the class of 2019, while also being ranked the No. 2 point guard in the class nationally and No. 1 overall prospect in the state of Iowa.

Meanwhile, Rivals has him ranked as the No. 17 prospect in the country.

According to 247Sports, Carton has mainly been recruited by IU Assistant Coach Tom Ostrom.

Carton has recently made visits to both IU and Michigan in late June, with his official visit to IU being his second trip to Bloomington this year.

He plans to visit Ohio State later this week.
