Man charged with felony robbery after argument over Xanax

A Bloomington man was arrested Tuesday on the felony charge of robbery after a woman said he ripped her cell phone from her hands.

Larry Ruble Jr., 38, accused the 35-year-old woman of stealing his Xanax while she was keeping an eye on his bag earlier in the day, according to police.

The woman told officers she allowed Ruble to search her purse and even turned her pockets inside out so he could see she didn’t have the pills.

Ruble then reportedly snatched her iPhone 6 from her hands and told her she could have it back when she returned his Xanax. The woman told police Ruble also threatened to punch her in the throat.

Bloomington Police Department Lt. Ryan Pedigo said Ruble admitted to taking the phone. He was booked into the Monroe County Correction Center late Tuesday.
