A 23-year-old woman reported a potential rape to police Saturday after waking up and feeling she might have had sex — which she did not consent to.
She told police she was out drinking with friends the night before and ended up at an apartment somewhere.
The woman reported remembering walking around IU’s campus, going to some dorms and then heading to an apartment off campus. She did not know where the apartment was or who lived there.
When she woke up, she told police, her body felt like she might have had sex without her consent.
She flagged down an IUPD officer on campus to make a report, and they sent her to IU Health Bloomington Hospital for an examination. The Bloomington Police Department then took over the case.
The woman had a rape kit done, and BPD detectives are working the case.
