Apparently-hallucinating man breaks into family’s attic

An apparently-hallucinating Bloomington man broke into a family’s attic around 1 a.m. Sunday, telling police he thought he was being chased.

Philip Hebert, 33, first tried to open the apartment’s front door before moving to an attic entry point.

Bloomington Police Department Sgt. Robert Skelton said officers got the family out of the apartment before pulling the attic’s ladder out and coaxing Hebert down.

Skelton said the call took seven officers.

Hebert was taken to jail on the preliminary charges of public intoxication and criminal trespassing.
