Seniors Juwan Morgan and Zach McRoberts have been named the 2018 men’s basketball captains per a release from IU athletics Monday morning.
The senior forwards were granted the positions following a team vote.
“Juwan and Zach have shown the qualities that you would expect from experienced players in the program,” IU Coach Archie Miller said in the release. “They lead by example on the floor every day with their work ethic and in the locker room by not being afraid to hold their teammates accountable in representing the standards we expect when you wear Indiana across your chest.”
Morgan is fresh off a season in which he averaged 16.5 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. He was awarded second team All-Big Ten honors for his efforts.
McRoberts has been a steady role player for the Hoosiers in his two years in Bloomington since transferring from Vermont. The Carmel, Indiana, native finished second in steals in Big Ten games last season and has started 20 games throughout his IU career.
Morgan and Roberts will represent IU at Big Ten Media Day in Chicago on Oct. 11.
