Get ready to launch pumpkins sky-high this weekend at the Bloomington Pumpkin Launch.
Beginning at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Monroe County Fairgrounds, launcher teams will compete to see who can send their pumpkins the farthest and most accurately with their pumpkin launching devices. Onlookers can set up lawn chairs and watch the launch contest throughout the day, according to the Bloomington Parks & Recreation Department’s website.
Besides pumpkin launching, there will be live music from the five-piece acoustic band Wonderhills, a classic car show, food trucks and many other activities provided by WonderLab and MedExpress. Quick-draw caricaturist Edward Santos will be in attendance, as well as a meet and greet with the pumpkin launching teams before the start of the launch, according to the BPRD’s website.
The event will cost $10 per vehicle and will end around 3 p.m. More information regarding the pumpkin launch can be found on either the BPRD’s Facebook page or online.
