A 30-year-old woman told police Sunday she was raped by hospital employees during her stay at the IU Health Bloomington Hospital last week.
Bloomington Police Department Lt. John Kovach said police are investigating the allegations, but added officers have reason to suspect the report is unfounded.
The woman told officers she was raped once on the night of Oct. 16 by a man she knew only by first name. The next night two men, and a woman forced her to perform oral sex.
She told police she has memory lapses and isn’t sure about all of the details.
Kovach said too much time had passed when the report was made for a rape kit to be collected.
